Before you start

Quick answers before you start

Short answers to what people ask before sending a request. Our full FAQ goes into the detail behind each one.

Is there any cost to use candidloans.com?
None. Lenders and partners who receive requests pay for the service, never the person filling in the form.
Will a lender look at my credit?
Some do, through the major bureaus or alternative data sources. Whether it leaves a mark on your report depends on the kind of review that lender runs.
What is an installment loan?
A loan repaid on a fixed schedule. Each payment covers part of the principal plus interest, and the size and number of payments are settled before you sign.
When would the money arrive?
If you accept an offer, the lender may deposit the funds the next business day. Exact timing follows that lender’s processing schedule and your bank.
What do lenders usually require?
Typically that you are 18 or older, hold a checking or savings account that takes direct deposit, and bring in around $1,000 a month or more.
How is my information handled?
What you submit travels encrypted and reaches only the lenders and partners involved in your request. The Privacy Policy spells out the rest.
How much can I ask for?
Requests run up to $5,000. What a lender puts on the table comes down to its own review of your details.
Does sending a request mean I will get an offer?
No. Every lender decides on its own, and meeting the common requirements does not mean your request will be taken on.
Is candidloans.com a lender?
No. We are a free connecting service. We do not make credit decisions, set rates, or issue loans, and we have no part in the terms a lender may offer you.
What are the rates and fees?
They are set entirely by the lender and vary with your state, your profile and the product. Annual Percentage Rates on short-term loans can be high — see Rates & Fees for the details.
Can I change my mind?
Yes. You are under no obligation at any point. If an offer is not right for you, decline it at no cost.
What if I miss a payment?
Contact your lender straight away. Non-payment or late payment may add fees and may be reported to the credit bureaus, which can affect your credit score.
